The serene country atmosphere with warm friendly people is what attracted me to this area. I grew up between Dallas and Fort Worth but desired to live in a less-populated region of Texas. When I initially visited, I was welcomed with open arms by the medical community and this tradition has held up since I arrived with my husband. We are impressed with the cultural activities the city provides and the opportunities to become more involved, thus we are looking forward to putting down roots in the Central Texas community.

I moved to Brownwood over twenty years ago from Southern California, and have been on staff in the ED at BRMC for the entire time. As with all hospital CEO’s, we face constant challenges.  The ever changing healthcare world warrants careful consideration for leadership, guidance and accountability. It has become more difficult with the increased consumer demands, decreased funding, regulatory intervention, and professional staff shortages. As a leader, I feel it is important to share a sense of direction for the hospital with not only the administrative team but the entire management group. Often times it seems that administration is more concerned with operational issues, efficiency and effectiveness and less concerned about implementing the day to day activities.  All of those things combined create support for the mission and values of the organization.  It is important to share the expectation and the overall vision for BRMC to all management that focuses on alignment of goals, set priorities for achieving the goals, build team relationships, accountability and follow through for the progression and success of the goals.  Team building is very important to accomplish challenging goals.  With this as our focus, we strive to improve patient, employee and physician satisfaction by extending an open door policy to anyone. The open door policy allows us the opportunity to hear concerns and create action plans to address the concerns.  As a rural hospital we take pride in offering many services that are found in much larger cities such as radiation and chemotherapy treatments along with the diversity of rural health clinic locations.  We have provided services to Brown County and the surrounding counties since 1969.  If a physician is looking for a community to not only build a practice and become involved in, we are that community you may proudly call home. We continue to invest in our community because we know the importance of supporting local businesses and organizations. With our support, it provides meaning and success to the organizations which affect our daily lives.
