When I was looking at opportunities to practice general surgery I was looking primarily for three things: I wanted to practice medicine in a hospital that had state of the art equipment, a well-trained group of specialists and an administration that was supportive of the physician and absolutely dedicated to patient care. I found all of these things and more at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Practicing at Gadsden Regional has exceeded my expectations. The medical care here is as good, or better, than a larger healthcare market like Birmingham, where I trained. We are able to take care of the patient locally, without the need to transfer to a tertiary hospital. Gadsden also is an ideal town in which to grow a thriving practice. You have a hospital that is dedicated to your success and very proactive in physician support. Logistically, being a regional hospital, we pull from many areas around the city. Therefore, the patient base is enormous. Geographically, you are a little over an hour away from big metropolitan centers such as Chattanooga, Birmingham and Atlanta.
Again, I feel privileged to have found an opportunity to practice that is as rewarding as this one.
