I have always been an employed physician and with Northwest Allied Physicians, I can set up my own schedule like a private practice, but don't have to run the business of medicine.

What are some of the benefits of being employed by Northwest Allied Physicians?

Joining our group as an employed physician allows you to practice without the risks of starting or joining a group.  That means no buy-in or startup costs, and benefits such as health insurance and a 401k are there when you begin.  At the same time, our compensation system allows to you be fairly compensated for your efforts.  There is no cap on compensation – the more patients you see, the better your reimbursements.  As a result, our potential ceiling for reimbursement is competitive with what top clinicians can make in private practice.

What growth and leadership opportunities are there within the organization?

Our group is heavily invested in strong clinician leadership.  All clinicians are assigned an associate medical director who can help them navigate the system and meet their needs.  As employed clinicians, we enjoy not being required to focus on administrative duties such as negotiating with coverages, following billing and reimbursements, or working out clinical operations.  That being said, we support motivated members in their professional growth.  Many of them become champions in specific areas or are appointed as associate medical directors.

What are some of your recommendations for new clinicians?

Early on, associate medical directors and I spend one-on-one time with our new clinicians to lay out their first-year plan.  This includes developing exposure and trust with the community and medical community, review of their office and any needs they may have, and training them in our clinical systems and electronic medical record system.  Just as importantly, I go over planning for time off, CME recommendations, and work-life balance.  The goal is not to just build a practice, but to build a sustainable practice, one in which our clinicians will enjoy practicing.
