I have been a pediatrician for over 20 years and have practiced on my own until recently when I joined FMC. It has been a wonderful experience and my already large practice became even larger. The community is strong and loyal. My wife and I enjoy living in this area: we love the small town atmosphere where we work closely with Relay For Life, enjoy the entertainment of an excellent symphony and also have the luxury of close travel to a larger city, only 30 minutes away.

Two years ago I moved to Big Spring to practice orthopedics. I practiced in Lubbock for over 20 years in a high volume trauma practice which also involved long hours at the hospital on call. I came to Big Spring to have a moderate volume, high quality practice and most important quality of life. That is exactly what I have. My office staff is excellent along with the best OR staff I have encountered in my entire career. Happiness is practice in Big Spring. Small town atmosphere with lots of nice people.

I joined the FMC team in Aug. 2008, my wife and I chose a small town for many different reasons and have not regretted our choice to this day. Even though I have a large practice, I am still able to maintain quality of life with my family. The FMC clinic staff and the SMMC staff hold a goal of excellence and the quality of care is above the mark. I work closely with administration and am very pleased with the upcoming changes and growth in our environment and city as our CEO takes us to the next level in healthcare. I am a firm believer “a small community can give you great success and satisfaction as you pursue your passion.

I grew up in Big Spring, married my husband and I have raised our children here. I have been a nurse for 30 years. Nursing has always been a huge part of my life, giving me great joy and satisfaction in caring for patients. I started off as an LVN in 1985, earned my RN in 1993 and finally realized my lifelong dream was becoming a nurse practitioner. I graduated from Texas Tech in December 2012. I have been with FMC now for 2 years in the role of family practice nurse practitioner. I love being able to provide my patients with high quality healthcare. The atmosphere here creates a family environment. I have a wonderful nurse, KC Payne who shares my passions along with the entire FMC staff who provide a sense of excellence in taking care of each individual need. I look forward to many more years of service with my FMC team.

In May 2008, my family and I chose to leave the chaos of the metroplex area and move out west to one of the friendliest communities I have ever experienced. My clinic team is amazing, my staff have been with me for 7 years and we have a strong family atmosphere providing high quality patient care. My wife and I are both very pleased with this area; it has been and is a great place to live, raise your children and practice medicine.

I have been involved in healthcare for the past 13 years. During that time I have been involved in numerous areas of the industry; I began as a licensed physical therapist assistant and quickly progressed into leadership positions of increasing responsibilities. I graduated with honors from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene and obtained my MBA from Phoenix University.
Now that I have stepped into the role as CEO, I am able to better understand what directors and managers are dealing with due to having walked in their shoes during different times throughout my career.
Before arriving at SMMC, I served as the Chief Operating Officer at San Angelo Community Medical Center, a 171-bed hospital in San Angelo, Texas, for five years, and for a short period as interim CEO. Before that I worked at Abilene Regional Medical Center for eight years as a director of wound care center and administrative specialist.
